I'd been using various brands of bottled water to fill my kettle. All of them created quite a bit of white fur and I used vinegar to clear it on a pretty regular basis.

Three weeks ago I bought Bezoya water as my usual brands weren't there.

Guess what? Virtually no white deposits.

Maybe there's a chemist on the forum with an explanation but for now I do wonder if "all" the water in bottled water is what it says on the tin!

Most bottled water contains minerals such as calcium, magnesium & sodium and these will cause the furring on your kettle. Hard tap water also contains a lot of minerals. However, soft water contains fewer/less minerals and it could be that your new water was from a soft water area or had been produced by osmosis (water filtration).

Tap water tastes really good when it's been filtered through my optima evolve filter jug.

Water filters last a month.

Filter the tap water, chill in fridge and drink.....lovely.

A good tip Steve, but I just use my kettle for a mug of coffee. Happy to pay for and drink bottled when I want just water though.

I just thought it could be interesting for those who drink a lot of bottled water to avoid the hardness in tap water.

Bezoya is definitely the cleanest I've come across.

i bought and fitted a filter system under my sink connected to a separate tap that came with the kit, i also fitted a T in the pipe and connected it to my fridge water supply, i have used it for 8 months now and my kettle is spotless and i drink the water all the time. i bought the kit in Leroy merlin and highly recommend it. no need for bottled water any more.

If you do need to clean a kettle boil water with a couple of quarters of lemon in, brings it up spotless.

I buy Bezyoyo all the time, more expensive but better than buying new kettles and coffee machines.

It depends on the level of ‘calcio’ stated on the label. The lowest I have found at 2.2 is Nestle Aquarel and I have never had to de-fur my kettle in 3 years! It’s fab. I used to use Bezoyo which is also good but I had to de-fur now and again. Give Nestle a try.
