Just an update for anyone looking at this post in the future, I’ve been to Villajoyosa today, I caught the number 1 bus from Ave Mediterraneo to Benidorm tram station, we were going to walk up through Parc de L'Aigüera but my knees were really hurting today (I keep putting off getting a w...

...alking stick) the whole process of buying tickets was really easy and I even did it all in Spanish so it was good practice 😊 we caught the tram on Linea 1 to Villajoysa, all the stops are announced and displayed on electronic boards on the tram so you can’t go wrong, returning as we had walked along the beach front after lunch we were able to catch the tram at the next station along called Creuta, the platform was clearly marked which way back to Benidorm so you can’t go wrong, overall it was a really cheap, easy and pleasant day out 👍

It's good that you are happy with the transport services but what about your shopping experience in Villajoyosa, was it as you had expected or disappointing?

"is there much in the way of shops in Villajoyosa for my wife? "

That was your enquiry on your first post, so you didn't indulge?

I looked on google maps street view and there was very little in the way of shopping so we just enjoyed the beach front.

Thank you for that, are there many shops there or a shopping centre/mall?

I live in la Vila Joiosa, the nearest shopping centre is La Marina its also in the tram line just outside of Benidorm but it's not somewhere you could spend all day. The stop you need for the tram is the next one immediately after the hospital its called Castor Pastor or something like that, the next one after that is the town centre but I don't know the name of it, both of them are the ones you want, the third stop is Vila Joiosa, that's well past everything. Got the chocolate factorys here aswel. The promenade is a nice walk but you can actually walk for miles in the both directions if you know the correct routes, one route is a doggers spot (not dog walking) but it's still a nice walk.
