Thank you. I will have it on my person all the time. It's done by a sworn translator and stamped. You have to go through the ministry of affairs in Spain who give you a list of Spanish sworn translators. So the police know it's legal because of the stamp. I know I will get disapproving looks that...

...'s something I will have to deal with. Will more than likely just stay by the pool in the day anyway, so don't have to wear one there anyway cause it's social distanced. Not really a night person. To old for that lol.

Reading this post and I cant understand how some are so unkind. And people have no idea what your storey is .I hope you have a lovely time out in Spain and as long as you have your letter and its all above board then that's all that matters,Stay safe and enjoy.

Thanks Steve will look into getting it translated and stamped. Will probably contact the Spanish consul for there advice. Would love nothing more than to be able to wear one trust me, but with my COPD it just cuts off my breathing.

I have COPD and I have worn a mask ever since the coronavirus started and it does not affect it one bit.

You’re lucky then ! :)  I guess every one is different. I read a few days ago they were saying copd sufferers were recommended to NOT use the N95

Hi Ray1

I’ve re read this thread and can find no unkind words from forum members.

When someone starts a thread, there will undoubtedly be those who

a. disagree

b. have a different perspective

Providing those who respond do so appropriately, that does not mean they are being unkind.
As for people not knowing her story, for the purposes of this thread, I think she was pretty clear. She want to come to Spain, on holiday, has COPD, can’t wear a mask, will catch any coughs and sneezes in a tissue and expects anyone who may not choose to sit near her to be accommodated by the airline. These are the OP”s own words, not others conjecture

The OP states her partner won’t cancel the holiday or change the dates. Now that is what I call really unkind 🤪🥂

All they was asking was, would  if a English medical certificate off your doctor is ok to show local police. Not the rest of what I thought  were negative comments. As I said in my last post we don't  know these peoples storey of whats going on in their live's. People should just answer the comment without the need to put there ten pence worth in.

With the greatest respect, that’s exactly what you did. You didn’t answer the question but you did put your ten pence worth in. That your ten pence worth may not be in accord with others is neither here nor there; it was your ten pence worth, but no more valid than anyone else’s.

People will always have different views; they are allowed to state them

That Jam64 only chooses to acknowledge the posts that appear to be sympathetic is, I think, interesting. You refer again to not knowing “people’s story”. Jam64 chose to reveal details of her life/condition. In the context of this thread and the responses generated, it was more than enough.

If someone is unable to sit quietly on a plane for a couple of hours, wearing a mask, due to the severity of their condition, then the wisdom of travelling is questionable. 🤪🥂

I take on board everything that as been said & I completely understand people's concerns. Everyone as a right to their own opinion & to put their views across & I certainly don't knock that. I won't be the only person exempt from wearing a face mask, so just hoping that the information I have given will help other people out there in the same situation. Thank you for everyone's comments weather positive or negative . Stay safe, (from me) just a joke. Keep smiling😀👌

I read the link you gave and took on board what it said, but I think I will personally still wear one as I have no wish to either catch the virus or unknowingly give it to anyone before I knew I even had it.

You must of course pursue what is right for yourself and if anyone gives you grief then whilst that is wrong you cannot blame them when they want you to stand completely away from them due to not wearing one, this is because they are scared of catching it and rightly or wrongly they will automatically think all unmasked people are putting their lives in danger.

Hope you have a nice time.
