I agree 100% Those that now live abroad have to accept the conditions of the country they now live in, Ten years away and now the UK seems a haven for vaccination ,.

To think that coming over for a holiday will enable you to get a jab because the EU and Spanish rollouts are in a dire mess due to delay, dithering and bureaucratic ineptitude really is taking the ****.

You chose to live in Spain and become a Spanish resident ,and by doing so basically gave up the benefits of Great Britain.

What about all the people who are British and never do a days work and claim benefits and pay no tax and nothing towards the NHS and use it to excess. I atleast have paid into the system.

I wouldn't want the vaccination to become mandatory, definitely think people should choose whether to have it or not ,but did see Female professor on GMB this morning  and she said there was a study in USA which has said that theres good evidence that having the vaccine  stops people sp...

...reading covid ,not trying to seem smart but I thought that was what vaccine was for to stop catching and spreading ,when I was at school early 60s I got polio vaccination and that was to stop one getting and spreading disease

The purpose of a vaccine is to prime your immune system to attack a particular virus when it enters your body and tries to infect your cells. However, you can still spread a virus around if you've had any contact with it. It can stay on your hands, clothes and any surfaces, and if you pick it up you can still spread it around. It may not infect you, but it can infect anyone who hasn't been vaccinated (and still could infect a vaccinated person, as none of them have proven 100% effective). So just because YOU'RE vaccinated you are still a danger to others, until everyone else is too.

I was only stating what.i heard on TV regarding vaccination and spreading of the virus ,I dont profess to  be an expert ,but many people seem to accept  what scientists say as gospel ,like many other things it's an opinion  you choose to believe it or not

Its ok John people don't know anything about me and call me selfish, i call them judgemental. I guarantee that few to non of them don't speak spanish, which is selfish. I have donated money to UK charities and still will continue to do so, so not really that selfish. I paid for a homeless British man who got stuck here to get his emergency passport and give him a bed for a coyof nights and drove him to the airport, not a sign of someone selfish. I also want to go to the UK with my daughter and have a family meal because my old age dad has heart failure and maybe his last chance to see any of us and i maybe a risk to him and end up stuck there so why can't i get a vaccine which is safer for everyone?

I think the phrase you may be looking for is "Two wrongs do not make a right"  You have left the UK and whatever you may think of the people you mention is irrelevant. Your health needs in Spain were covered by the reciprocal agreement with the UK. If you have used the Spanish Health System , then its the UK Gov that have paid, therefore just the same as you using the NHS. What you advocate is it being The International Health Service. You made your choice, no one else made you leave the UK.

Dont castigate many many people who are in the UK to justify trying to get around the appalling vaccine programmes in the EU nations..

In a post I wrote earlier in El Pais yesterday they reported that those born between 1942 and 1956 are going to have wait until at least mid April or even later for their vaccinations as the powers that be are concentrating on those who are younger or older.

So all this guff about a digital certificate Spain are banging on about becomes meaningless to those of us who are going to have to wait and wait for a vaccination, and I am sure that the Spanish wont make it easy to get the vaccination certificate, they are already doing that by not vaccinating us.
