I didn't realise that the festival of Fallas began this evening.

For those of you who are unaware, it is when the town celebrates ruining David's chance of getting some sleep ready for getting up at 05:30 the next morning to catch his flight to UK by someone on a PA system which can be heard in Valencia. This is then interrupted by playing loud drums practically under his window at ten past nine at night.

I am just waiting for the part where they enter my bedroom to slap me with wet fish at three in the morning.

Ah, the things that I have to learn about Benidorm.

Hello. I have read your post several times just to make sure my eyes are not deceiving me. When I moved to Spain many years ago I was taken aback having a meal out late in the evening to see children running about. I asked who the children belonged to/the parents whereabouts. They work here the owner told me. As time passed I became aware that the Spanish people are very much family oriented something in the UK I personally had not experienced since the early 1950's/1960's. An inner huge warmth in feelings long forgotten. Now RavingDave please stop posting "Moaning Posts". Spain is a wonderful country, managed very well indeed in my opinion. If you do not like traditions then do not come to Spain. The world is a large place, go elsewhere. Sincerely. R.

I think the post was meant as fun, not to be taken serious. 🤔

I tend to agree. (also tongue-in-cheek). My nocturnal sleep deprivation is being interrupted by our small town's introduction of rubbish recycling collection. During the night ( hours vary 0100-0500hs).The town has invested in two diesel lorries, followed (later) by a noisy, high-pressure water cleaner. The down-side, apart from the noise & additional diesel fumes, is I am (incorrectly) using more plastic bags, in order to separate the refuse. ( Tongue-in- cheek) Rant over. I'd rather listen to the Fallas. V

Why don't you try Orihuela Costa. There you don't get fiestas. More often the sounds of drunk Irish people will wake you up in early hours of the morning.
