How do the Chinese and Spanish shops compare price wise? I would prefer to bring custom to the Spanish as it would surely maintain our usefulness to them.

Chino warehouse prices are generally lower than Spanish shops and indeed the municipal market prices. The best thing about the Chinese bazaar shops is that you can usually find everything you need in one visit.

Generally cheaper, but some items are of poor quality .... especially tools and hardware

This post that was quoted has been deleted.

I find I feel exactly the same when I visit my sister at Villamartin and go for a walk......😄

Chino's smell the same because they all stock the same things 🙄

I am not 100% sure of my ground here but the Chinese work a scam so they can stay in Spain. You may have noticed that people (staff) come and go.

It seems that if one person owns the shop for a certain period they have to pay higher 'rates'. If the business changes hands the clock is set back and it all starts again. So the shop never actually pays the going rate.

That's why they are always opening new ones.

Cheap skates like the rubbish they sell.

It is a convenience thing but I agree with previous posts in that the quality of tools and the like are terrible.......use once......break.......throw!

Also I don’t know if it’s me but they can be quite rude and abrupt. I never use the one at the bottom of the Urb next to the car sales due to poor attitudes.

Has anyone ever tried taking anything back?

Hi, only once. In our area & know the ladies & gentleman at the local Chinese shop, always friendly. Not much, but I took back two packets of light-bulbs. half were semi-broken. replaced without question.

Think I’ve been unlucky!

I only use as a last measure.

I end up going in for a bucket or something and come out with a trolley full of stuff that doesn’t get used.
