...steep drops on one side. There are, if one is careful, places where it is possible to pass cyclists. But not often. Today I drove home in second gear behind a team of professional cyclists, who were not even riding in the permitted two abreast, although even this makes life difficult here, but in a huge pack occupying nearly the full width of the lane. They must have been perfectly aware that I was behind them and there were places where they could easily have assumed single file. This is a regular occurrence, including the single professional cyclist riding in the exact middle of the lane, with the same result. Driving that far under these circumstances is not conducive to universal love and appreciation of the sport.
And, incidentally, whilst I perfectly understand the position of agricultural labourers who may not be able to afford a car, living in the middle of vineyards, almonds and olives, I have as yet not seen more than a couple of them using bicycles.
Hysterical that you think they should move over for you ..really? Why ..can't you wait ...desperate to get nowhere fast and burn some more fuel emissions? Hysterical car driver mentality..move over for me ...
