Hi everyone,  I'm trying to decide between a werk in benidorm or a week in sitges.  I'm gay so I'm aware both have a good gay nightlife but I also like some culture and maybe the odd spa day.  I'm so undecided,I would love to hear your thoughts to help me decide.  I hear sitge...

...s is very expensive?

Not much culture in "the 10 best things to do in Benidorm"

You any take on my query?  Is benidorm that bad?

Benidorm is what you want it to be,fine dining, lively "Spanish " bars ,evening dinner dances to a band or " chips with everything ,Sports bars ,Cabaret shows ( free) Karaoke for those who like to take part, quiet nights or rave nights,Benidorm has it all and contrary to the "anti Brit" brigade ,( remembering that anyone who speaks English and wears a Premier League football shirt is not necessarily " English")( visited Dublin on a Saturday?)

All nations are here holidaying in Benidorm,Scots,Welsh,Irish,North and South,Dutch,German ,Spanish from Madrid and they all find and do as much or as little as they like The "New town" with its plethoria of "Brit" bars is phenomenally cheap and all nationalities sometime avail of the opportunity to have a cheap day or night there .

Benidorms detractors are invariably "Ex Pat's" who are " better than that",but actually are not and are amongst some of the worst behaved when in a large group, normally a Wednesday when the Campo crowd visit for the market!

Don't take Ray's choice of description to seriously about Benidorm, I doubt he actually lives here.

I have lived here for 7 years and wouldn't go anywhere else to live.

I've been married for 50 years to my lovely wife and not into the gay scene,  however....we have got several gay friends who are very good and social people. They don't describe the Benidorm gay crowd as Ray might suggest. Benidorm gay pride parade is something of a spectacular which both me and my wife attend every year. Have your holiday here in Benidorm,  you won't regret it.....

Steve

Yes I agree the old town in Benidorm is great you don’t have to go anywhere near the madness of the new town

Thanks James.  Sounds more like Sitges would be more up my street.
