Hi everyone,  I'm trying to decide between a werk in benidorm or a week in sitges.  I'm gay so I'm aware both have a good gay nightlife but I also like some culture and maybe the odd spa day.  I'm so undecided,I would love to hear your thoughts to help me decide.  I hear sitges is very expensive?

No experience in that "scene" but if you want to feel like your in britian, benidorm; if you want a spanish holiday, sitges.

For culture defo sitges unless you find drinking all day n night, throwing up on the street or in the garbage cans cultural then benidorm but i imagine you could find that in brighton

Lol no I don't want to feel like I'm in Britain.  I live in Ireland and  love the UK but I suppose I want something different for a holiday. Is sitges very expensive?

Ever heard of "spring break" of uni students descending on a normally beach town in the US of A? Just imagine that but with very pale, mostly overweight brits or a group of very loud (same description mostly) "hens" on a hen party with no care or respect for others...

They just do not start once they touchdown either, they start before and can make the short plane trip difficult for the employees and other passengers.

I would also note that sitges has a much, much younger population without the possibility of being run over by (see description above) a motorized wheelchair zipping along the sidewalk.

Cannot comment on prices but an easy search will find out hotel prices in each. Sorry.

Don't take Ray's choice of description to seriously about Benidorm, I doubt he actually lives here.

I have lived here for 7 years and wouldn't go anywhere else to live.

I've been married for 50 years to my lovely wife and not into the gay scene,  however....we have got several gay friends who are very good and social people. They don't describe the Benidorm gay crowd as Ray might suggest. Benidorm gay pride parade is something of a spectacular which both me and my wife attend every year. Have your holiday here in Benidorm,  you won't regret it.....

Very grateful I got out of there after 3 years living on C. Bruselas, very close to you Steve I think and although I always try to promote the community valencian for a holiday as a single person looking for culture, sadly Sitges (cataluna) is better.

With train service, Valencia or Barcelona are short rides away from Sitges and much cheaper than UK/Ireland trains. Benidorm has a bus (about €20 to Valencia one-way) and a tram that takes you to Alicant, a small sized city worth only a couple of hours.

Yes, calle Bruselas is not to far from my Location.

However,  the OP is more interested in spending a week at an affordable holiday destination and Benidorm would be more suitable in my opinion. The old town has numerous gay bars and entertainment to suit. In the end its a decision for the OP to make.
