Check out the requirements now since brexit happened.
Quite onerous financial and healthcare requirements if you only have the UK passport. If you’re lucky enough to possess a EU passport then it is much simpler.

I agree with Benisnowbirds comments in regard to the requirements for moving to Benidorm.
I moved to Benidorm 10 years ago when it was very easily done but since brexit you will need to have a visa if you have a UK passport. Its virtually impossible to find work here as there is high unemployment and you would need a contracted work position. If you came with a non lucrative visa which means you are not allowed to work you would need an income of €34,000 and full private healthcare.

Hi Joseph,
Idealista was great for us. https://www.idealista.com/en/
Firstly for rented property, and then for purchase once we knew we wanted to live here permanently and where. Having said that, we did do an Airbnb, out of season for the first few months to find our feet.
If your wife has a UK passport, as I have, then there's a few more hoops to go through, but I got my family residence card through the husband's Irish passport easily enough. Can give you some tips if needed.
