Whilst I realise that's it's a legal requirement to apply for residencia for a stay exceeding 90 days, I'd just point out that - until the end of this year - the length of stay of UK citizens isn't monitored, so I don't see how the 90 day residencia rule can be enforced.

Next year will obviously be different, and assuming Spain apply the Schengen procedure, anyone staying more than 90 days will be told to leave Spain but will be given a period of grace in which to do so. Under the Schengen rules, it is possible to apply for an extension to the 90 days, but it will be necessary to provide a convincing reason for such an extension.

Yes.. a previous member also alluded to the same point about immigration not counting stay days at this point in time..

Many thanks for response..

No.. Im retired..

I'm just passing through.., 😎

I'm hoping to return to Asia ASAP.. Subject to global Covid lockdowns.. 😱

Then you really need to leave at the end of the 90 day period . You run the risk of being blacklisted against your passport and fined and unable to return.  I suggest you start sorting out your return flight

Just look at what's already on the forum. The topic has been hammered to death recently, and there's no point in starting another discussion, especially in a thread that isn't related to what you're asking.

Surely with the covid if you cannot return to Thailand because of it Spain might relax the 90 days rule, try asking an official rather than people. Good luck with whatever happens.
