help on my NIE application

hello,
im going to an appointment tomorrow for my nie, i live in spain and have a padron, at the moment im looking for work and have realised to get an interview or job you need nie first, Im not sure what to put as a reason for wanting my nie as I have read that if I want it to look for a job it may only be a temporary one? or is it ok just to say its to open a bank account? I have the possibility of a job in the coming months but they wont consider me without an nie and I don't want to mess up my chances of getting it.
