How did you get on?

Steve

Hi Steve we went down on Tuesday our neighbour who works in the emergency department in Bigastro medical centre went with us. A lot of conversation between our neighbour and the lady dealing with the paperwork. We're all sorted with our sip cards and registered to Dr Lopez who is the only doctor there that speaks English. Just waiting now on written confirmation of all my medications etc from my doctor back home then I will make n appointment. I also found an interpretor who lives in Bigastro who will do my translating for me so hopefully all will be ok.

Regards Sharon

Sure is only one more thing to do now and that's change our car to Spanish plates and we should be all sorted 🤞🤞😁

Well why not try that first? Assuming you weren't turned away at the actual desk when they told you this?

Please don't think this is patronising,  it's not meant to be...

Smile a welcome, it's important to break that ice here..

Say Buen dia, lo siento por mi Espanol

Necesita tarjetas de SIP por favor

See what happens. If you're turned away nothing lost?

Yes, that's right- this is all you need to say (buen dia, necesitamos tarjetas de SEEP - that's how it's pronounced - por favor). Definitely no need for a translator just to pick up a SIP card. Surprised you needed an appointment- we just walked in and asked for it, showing the paperwork. Wonder if they thought you were asking for an appointment to see the doctor? I have a friend in Bigastro so if you do need a translator anytime just let me know and I can ask who she uses. Best wishes.
