Do you have a passport for him he needs one if not and he will have to get special vaccines as well it used to be you had to wait 8 weeks before they could travel after vaccines maybe that's changed now the kennel club will give you the info.

You have a number of options, depending on how much you love your dog and are willing to do to make his/her transition to your change of life the least stressful
1) the best for your dog is to take a ferry to EITHER Cherbourg ( Stena have dog facilities for the 29 hr crossing) or to UK then take the ferry from south coast to either N France or Bilbao/Santander ( Brittany ferries, again, dog friendly)
2) if you are determined to fly your dog, you need to first find an airline that flies dogs, then find from where they fly, Likely you will have to travel to a major airport where they have animal handling facilities.
I travel with my 3 Weimaraners from UK to Spain. I love my dogs, so I drive up through Pamplona via Nantes to Cherboug and get the Poole ferry. Nice drive, plenty places to stop and walk. Loads of dog friendly hotels ( put in filter on booking.com). Stress free like a mini tour.
Bon chance

Have you tried a forwarding company that handle dogs for flights?
Aer Lingus fly dogs in the hold from Dublin. Google 'Aer Lingus Pets'. You'll find a list of forwarding companies.
We are taking 2 dogs to Costa Blanca from Belfast. Using the Belfast to Liverpool ferry, having the dogs collected in Liverpool and transported to Spain by road. Then we're flying Liverpool to Alicante.
Good luck,
Wouldn't trust anyone to transport MY dogs by road, simple as
