Hi all we are planning on holidaying in Calpe in September and would like to know if anyone can suggest a vets for us to use prior to returning to the UK in order for our pooches to have the required tapeworm treatment.  We have not been to Spain with the dogs before (although we have been to a lot of other places in Europe with them) and so do not know any Spanish Vets to take them to.  English speaking ones would be an advantage as I cannot speak/read any Spanish (another reason why we have not traveled to Spain before).

Thanks very much

Jacqui

There are three which return if you type in ‘veterinario calpe’. I know one of them as my mother has used him for years, but am not certain of which particular one it is. Spanish vets are very highly qualified, and usually in the ‘tourist’ areas have a few words of English, but, like doctors, aren’t really likely to speak fluently. However, if you look up the word for tapeworm (google says ‘tenia’ and worms are ‘gusanos’) I am sure you will be able to make yourself understood.
