We are visiting for a week from tomorrow. Can anyone recommend things to do, places to see or nice restaurants either in Calpe or the surrounding area?

Bring a supply of warm clothing as this winter has been very cold, particularly at night.

Have an evening meal in El Attico, Javea. Top floor of a boutique hotel overlooking the port. Sensational food, sensational views of the bay through big picture windows, lovely staff, set dinner menu superb and not expensive. Have the lamb if you like it, falls off the bone. Free parking 100m away just across road from port, near the fresh fish shop.

If you have transport, I'd recommend a visit to Denia castle:

Afterwards, I'd recommend a stroll through Els Magazinos street food market.

El Cantal restaurant on the edge of the port area is exceptional, but don’t expect it to be inexpensive, it compares in price with very high end uk places. However, across the road it has an offshoot, which is much more affordable with a very good menu del dia. Booking advisable.

There are several very good places around Calpe as it is an international community ,, your hotel will have details. Altea is a nice place to visit, the old town is charming. There are museums galore in Alicante and of course Valencia, with its world famous Oceanografic institute and the associated arts development.

There is so many nice restaurants all over calpe . Not to sure if every where will be open at the minute , highly recommend El Toro steak restaurant. All the Chinese restaurants and Indian restaurants are also fantastic . It can be a bit chilly just now so make sure to take some warm clo
