I booked all of our proposed flights in early January and of course were unable to travel until recently. My Travel Insurance said we were completely covered including for Covid as we had arranged to travel before the pandemic.  We flew over to Spain on 31st August and returned home at the w...

If you had booked your flights like I did , then your insurance would have been valid.  I am sorry to hear that you cancelled your flights but you could call your insurance providers and state your situation. It is possible that you could get travel cover excluding Covid. However, I am told that the Valencian government are guaranteeing all of us medical care if we catch the virus.

Please update and advise what your insurers tell you.  Good luck.

P.S. It’s almost 10 am and I am still in bed, nowhere to go to and no hurry getting there!

2 weeks of doing whatever Iike.

Don’t think you read my post properly.  I travel a great deal so take out annual cover which is for multiple trips worldwide.  The holiday in question was booked September last year, long before covid was even known about.  I therefore should have been covered and apparently many other people have the same issue with Staysure.  Hence why they are under investigation.

Are you saying that Staysure refused to provide travel cover for your trip? That is appalling and definitely should be investigated. Sorry to hear that.

I telephoned our insurance provider today to clarify whether we could travel to Spain or not. The answer was YES ,  for all medical cover but not for cancellations on flights or hotels. I am jubilant!

Now I can book flights and go over for a winter break. So pleased.

Most insurance companies are the same.

If you find a reason to travel to Spain..  in an emergency, you can still use your Ehic card..

But if your health is seriously not good.. upgrade your insurance, just not with stay sure..  you should read the peoples opinions on their site... entertaining to say the least.

If you feel I'll then simply dont travel...

I'm with Nationwide annual cover and they cover us for emergency medical for Covid but won't cover any cancelled flights or accommodation. Everything else is covered even when travelling against government advice.

We've just returned from Spain with flights that were only booked in August because EasyJet cancelled our flights which were booked pre Covid.

I reiterated twice that we were travelling against government advice.

You do have to be already insured with them as I don't think they are covering new customers.

Is this insurance attached to your flex account?

Thank you.  I have a Flexplus account.  Did you phone them to check you were covered?
