House insurance

We are completing on a villa in Castalla and need to insure it. Any advice would be very welcome.

Be specially careful with the smallprint. Some insurers require an second lock for the main entrance door, or the property is not left on its own for more than 3 days (these are just 2 of so many possible examples.)

My experience, don't use Sabadell insurance. No problems with the bank but I don't recommend the insurance.

We purchased Allianze Seguros and after 3 months had a power surge whic damage our washing machine made a claim and our washing machine was replaced with a new one after a few weeks. However a couple of our neighbours also tried to claim (one of them purchased from their bank) and they have got nothing back. At the time we paid just under €180 for house and contents I must admit I was lazy at the time and didn’t shop around, but thought the price was competitive compared with the UK
