Hi all readers of this Forum. I would like to make everyone aware of yet more Robbery in Cocentaina area

I have just been informed that my home in Spain has been robbed yet again. the thieves have completely emptied my property and left absolutely nothing.

I am not sure exactly when this robbery took place as I have only been given information via another resident who kindly takes a look around in my absence and he has reported that the thieves have even taken our water heater, TV, washing machine, Dryers, all beds including bedding, sofas, tables, chairs, fridge/freezer, wardrobes, clothes, personal items. what kind of people are they??? They had a large van - broke - in a back window removing security bars and left via our front door and leaving it damaged beyond repair. Not only did they rob us of all our goods but left at least 10,000 Euros of damage. I wont even be able to stay in my home whilst I try and secure it as it has been completely ransacked, leaving broken sanitary goods, as if robbing us was not enough they had to vandalise our home.  I will need to book hotel accommodation until I can make safe my home. they stayed long enough to cook and eat our food and leave their dirty dishes and food

please be on the look out for yourselves and your neighbours as I believe we are not the only property to have been robbed like this. A neighbourhood watch is very much needed as this is very much organised crime in a big scale. I thought our property was secured enough but obviously not, they came prepared with tools to rip out metal bars and to dismantle large furniture. Again what kind of people do this???

Insurance don't pay up when it's been left unoccupied for over 60 days. So nothing there for me.

It makes it difficult to keep a property occupied and secure with the 190/80 rule. Most of the break- ins happen because the scum that do this know exactly when to hit a property. I will need to sell up because I can't recover from this one. The damage they do is dreadful. I have had this every year or two, last time they cut out all our water pipes pool shower pipes and all our air-conditioning units, and even took the pool stairs. Vile people and definitely organised and come prepared.

It's got that I feel I can't trust anyone

I'm sure someone must have seen something.

I feel very sorry for you,

However, for some people to park a fairly large van outside your property and load up furniture, washing machine, a good quantity of other large items surly must have caught the attention of the immediate neighbours, they must have known you were not there, didn't they at least ask what was happening? After all, it must have taken at least an hour for them to do all that work (stealing) help themselves to a meal, then trash your house......

I wouldn't want neighbours like that who would let it happen.....

Unfortunately that's exactly hoelw I'm feeling just now. That's why I've now made up my mind that I can't live there, I need to sell to people who can be there all year round. No amount of security can keep scum like that out, this was organised crime I've no doubt about that and not the first time. I will know more when I get there I'm sure.

Your loss makes the €60odd a month Securitas Direct monitored alarm system seem like pretty good value.

Most of my (part-time) neighbours have a monitored system installed and, touch wood, none have been through the anguish that you are suffering.
