I thought about coming over years ago to work in refrigeration and air conditioning but my then wife didn’t want to go, I am retired now but I do still miss repairing and installing refrigeration equipment

Good luck whatever you do . Could always be a “helper”

My wife is just in the process of applying for an Irish passport and I believe that I can work on my wife’s passport as a dependant, if so I may be over looking for a part time job this year 😂

I could of got some work on Villamar before Christmas moving air con units on the caravans but too risky without a work visa

You could go self-employed.  All qualifications require The Hague Apostille stamped seal and will need to be translated.

A mate of mine has collared the aircon relocation jobs on Villamar along with moving sheds, outside showers etc, etc. All time critical just now.

You will still require a Visa as a Family Member of an EU Citizen which would not be issued until your wife's application for an Irish Passport has been successful and she is in possession of the passport. You may find these links useful:

That was a good little number moving the units, I did consider it but decided against it as I would of had to get my tools and equipment across, there will be more work there once some of the brackets holding the units have collapsed 😂

If you coming in a NLV (No lucrative Visa). You won’t be able to work for at least the first 5 years.

I’m a qualified A/C engineer. I installed my own Multi Systems in Spain. Took them over from the UK just before the B word.

many a/c installers don’t have  qualifications Spanish or otherwise. After all, you can buy them off the shelf from Leroy Merlín.

This is strictly not correct. Although the NLV doesn’t allow you to work, you can apply for a different visa to allow work. There is lots of guidance on this all over the internet. Generally, the better option ( I say this lightly!) is to go down the self employed route. Typically this process would begin approx 12 months after settling in SPAIN under the NLV. I found this persons experience very informative.

Actually on NLV when you reapply for the 2nd and 3rd year which is after 12 months and you are successful in your application you can apply for a modification of residency which allows you to work in Spain as long as you have a job offer from a legal company in Spain which have their taxes paid up to date etc.
