Sorry, error....the hotel isn’t a 5 star but a 7 star luxury hotel.  The suite that ex King Juan Carlos is staying in costs £10,000 per night.  It seems that he arrived in Abu Dhabi on Monday having travelled in a private jet which cost another vast amount of money.( think it was £49,000 but need to check)

The luxury Emirates Palace Hotel seems ideal for his needs. Isn’t he fortunate that he can afford such accommodation but not surprising though!

Hi We are due to come over to Spain on the 11th August to our flat there. I miss it and I love it but I have small children.

Can I ask

1) What are the restrictions imposed on Spain if we do arrive from the UK? - do you have to go straight to the apartment and stay there? Do we have to wear face masks everywhere? Do you have to book time to go to the beach and do they get full up? Do you have to book in advance for restaurants as you do in the UK?

Overall-  Are beaches - playa de la glea and restaurants/ playgrounds nearby open as per usual Or is it Very different to usual?

2) If we did come and we were ill - highly improbable but just to make sure I understand - how does it work if you are a non Spanish resident. We would have a valid EHIC card and insurance which probably wouldn’t work. Worst case scenario does anyone know what happens ?

3) Is The Xenia boulevard open or is it restricted timings, long queues etc ?

4) Are the taxi booker service (Uber equivalent) working as per usual ?

I am thinking of postponing our trip but would like to hear from the local residents what it’s actually like there at the moment

Best wishes In advance

Ren

Hi thanks for all your help so far. The only question was regarding taxis and in particular the Taxi Booker app as I usually use it when I’m there to order for a taxi if I want to go to Zenia Boulevard or from the airport.

If anyone knows/ uses taxis in Murcia / Campoamor or the surrounding areas it would be helpful to know if they are operating as per usual? Thank you 👍

I just read the Euroweekly News report about this. It’s a terrible piece of reporting - framing opinion / conjecture as fact.  I see they published a second story that essentially says the first story was misinterpreted as being factual!

Picked this up off the N332 Facebook page yesterday.

Spain is NOT going back into lockdown. There have been many rumours all over Facebook this morning about Spain going back into lockdown. There is NO OFFICIAL CONFIRMATION from the Spanish Government about a new ‘lockdown’ at all. There is NO official information about borders closing. At the moment, the Government is focusing on controlling the small outbreaks across the country.

There has been NO mention anywhere about another lockdown or confinement, nor going backwards into different phases (only in some small areas of Spain has this been put in place, to control outbreaks).

Things are ever changing and announcements can be made any moment, if we hear any more information on this we will of course update you. As always, N332 will translate and publish all government official statements as and when they happen. N332 will only ever post true information from official government sources, never will we post ‘news’ stories as we do not benefit in any way from this page. Thank you for always trusting N332.

Hi REN

We have literally flown back today from Villamartin

Sanitiser available at the entrance to all shops/ bars and restaurants, mask on at ALL times unless on the beach ( busy but social distance) around communal pool ( numbers limited and taped off entrance ladders) or sitting down in bar/restaurant

Xenia Boulevard is open, again snorers everywhere & masks on

Quieter than normal so no issues booking in advance for restaurants. Will just have to wait to be seated as they will spray and sanitise chair & table. No menus usualled on a WR app or they will give you a paper version that can be thrown away after.

When arrive at Alicante no difference just mask on, but they may not allow pick up outside

Hope that helps

Kind regards, take care

Gail

It feels safer there than uk, large majority of people are being good distancing.
