Arrived in Denia to our lovely apartment which we’ve had for 21 years for our usual 6 week holiday, however we’ve been sorely disappointed in the state of the bus and the service from Las Marinas, there is only one tiny dilapidated old bus with no air conditioning every two hours to get you into Denia…. Dreadful !

Also the taxis are not much better, you can never get one, and finally what’s happening with the huge car park opposite all the restaurants on the front…. It’s closed, so when you can’t get on the bus because it’s full, you can’t get a taxi and when you take your car into town, there are very little places to park !

It really can’t be doing the town centre restaurants & business’s any good.

Very disappointed.

We were in denia a few days ago and the car park by the port is free, the one that was the paid car park before is closed but you can park in the one next to it

Its just bus companies way of saving money. If buses are infrequent it's because they aren't in high demand, so they use one they can fill at the busier times only. They are improving things in towns in Spain quite a bit so they probably closed the car park to build something else.

It will get better shortly as the summer bus time table starts they then run every 20 mins .

As for the taxis we agree they was supposed to issue more permits but I see no improvement.

We've only been here less than a year so I cannot relate to your earlier experiences but I find that going into Denia by car is just as bad as going into Amsterdam or any other major city in Europe on four wheels. And to me the answer is: bicycle. And I admit that it is not for everyone, certainly not if you're impressed by the lack of respect that is given to bikes by ES license plate cars - and not to mention the totally idiotic way they implement the cycle paths here.... but having said that: going into town takes me 10 minutes. Going back 15 (up the hill) and going into the direction of Les Bovetes is easy by bike too... The only concession: I have an e-bike here - and not at home in NL. Couldn't be happier with it. And disabilities aside - I can't understand people not biking more often.
