I am looking to add a few features/patterns to a plain boring floor we have and wanted to know where to go to customise a dozen tiles, spain is TILE country, there must be somewhere that does customisation?

Most tiles would be ‘customized’ at the glazing stage, pre firing. You could get away with painting or stenciling onto wall tiles, although I wouldn’t think it a good idea for shower walls. However, I doubt this approach would be robust enough to withstand being used on a floor. You would need to approach a specialist tile manufacturer and this process is likely to incur significant costs. There are other approaches you could take, using odd patterned tiles is quite popular as a current finish and could be achieved quite economically.

Well, the obvious solution would be to go and ask in a good quality tile retailer.

wow, thank you.
I have asked for more details as they seem only to do printed wall tiles, I wanted floor tiles which are either mosaic or gone thro the enamelling process
