Freesat is a UK brand. So you can get Freesat TV in the UK< which has the 7 day Freesat guide, but they do not sell these in Spain, as the UK only.

You can get a smart TV with a satellite receiver DVB-S2 inbuilt which will pick up the satellite channels, but the difference is you will not have the 7 day program guide which is specific to FREESAT branded hardware - so you can get channels, but not program guide.

If you want similar functionality from your English language satellite dish, then you can buy a FREESAT receiver from Amazon or high st retailer in the UK (not sold in Spain) - Humax Freesat is one of the better known & quality brands - they have a recording twin tuner model also & is easy to use.

Great thanks - We have a skyhd box which we don't use.... so we were thinking of perhaps using that...although we know that we won't be able to record anything...but thing that this may be enough for our holiday home... thanks for the tech info... we may end up doing what you suggest at a later date...

Sky box will be fine, will give you the EPG and if you can live without the recording - may as well put to a good use.

Thanks - yes bough it in ireland...and doesn't work in France...so gathering dust otherwise!!  Will just have to make sure whatever is important to record is at home!

we've just arrived this week and are in the process of trying to figure things out... if you could send me the info that would be great.... we're 'moving' from the hotel at Bonalba to our house today... glad to be out of it.... We're also trying to decipher the huge amounts of info on internet/wifi... as this will be a holiday home we just want wifi/etc.. guy from Flatpaxia told me that there's already fibre in the house... so will perhaps try and get an idea of prices... thanks for your help

Hi Caroline. We are WiFi with Aeromax who have a pay.for what you use plan as I understand it so you could that a look into. Alternatively if you have cable there is an engineer called Welsh Mike in Busot who did everything for us including a box with all British Channels, Sky Movies, Box Sets, etc. If you want I can ask him if it’s all right to give you his number - even if it’s just to get advice. Hi Alex, thanks any information would be greatly appreciated... we have a skybox which we hope we can use with existing satellite dishes here.... at the moment using my phone to access my laptop!!.. so not ideal for the long term... thanks for your hlep!
