Hi im just looking for some advice. I'm visiting El Campello next week from the UK and want to check if I need a Covid Test? We are both fully vaccinated (both vaccines, last 1 early June) and have proof with QR code. Acc to gov website entry into Spain requires either or. However I just want to double check as dont want to either not be allowed to board the plane or not be allowed to enter Spain. Any advice would be much appreciated. Or if anyone knows who I could call about it to check.

Also is an Antigen Test enough to fly back to the UK -i found one with Laboratorios Carbonell in El Campello but want to ensure that would suffice.

I've also read you can bring Antigen tests with you from the UK (acc to Martin Lewis) but couldn't see this on gov website-anybody know?

Thank you in advance

I don't know the rules for the devolved nations but if flying from England then no Covid test needed, just your nhs vaccination certificate and spth travel locator form.

Paper copies are fully acceptable.

On return an antigen is sufficient, the unique reference number to be used on the uk locator form.

Yes I have friends who took test kits with them but I didn't, what if you were denied boarding or you couldn't make the journey...money wasted.

I ordered ours once I was in Spain, allow time for them to be delivered and waiting for you on your return.

Hello imiller and welcome to the forum!

This is a link to the Spanish government Ministry of Health, as well as Gov.UK:

https://www.mscbs.gob.es/profesionales/saludPublica/ccayes/alertasActual/nCov/spth.htm

https://www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice/spain/entry-requirements#vaccination

As things currently stand, proof of your double-vaccination is sufficient to enter Spain.  It would be worth checking both these websites before you travel and also for your return journey, as there's a suggestion that Spain may join France as an "Amber Plus" destination.

Kind regards,

Kim

Hello Ken

thank yku for replying to my questions it is much appreciated.

May I please ask from where you got your antigen test when in El Campello? I understand antigen tests are sufficient but also understand they need to meet certain standards. I emailed the co mentioned in my original question asking if their antigen test meet the UK requirements and i am still awaiting a response.

thanks in advance for your help

kind regards

iza

We travelled home on Friday. The best advice I can give you is to have paper printed copies of all documents needed. Saves time searching through your ‘phone. I wish we had had printed tangible evidence instead of trawling through the phone searching for evidence.  When checking in, I showed my locator form with the QR code on it. Was asked for all other 4 pages. I thought I had downloaded them but she asked me to leave the queue and return when I had it. Instead of looking at what I had shown her and checking to see if the full form was there I had to log into the airport WiFi which takes time. Then logged into my account in the NI gov site. Thankfully I remembered my 14 character password which was required to set up the account. After a further 3 or 4 minutes, I downloaded it again and returned to find that we were the only people not checked in. Next, security, simple enough but more time. Toilet visit and a good walk to gate B27. Passports stamped enroute. One lady being dealt with st the gate and she was being refused as she couldn’t find her Antigen test results. Seems she had had the test done in Cabo Roig, assumed that the result would be emailed to her but it wasn’t on her ‘phone. No more flights to Belfast that day so don’t know what happened after we went through. I did ask if she had anywhere to go but she said NO. I told her to Phone the test place and ask for the results to be sent to her and go to EasyJet snd try to get on a flight to England  where she could hopefully get a connection home. I also told her to check Ryanair but hope and pray that she got home safely.
meet witnessed 2 people refused to travel when flying over from Gatwick.

Hello I am flying to El Campello this week and our flight home to the UK is 13.30 on sunday 8th.

if I take an antigen test I understand I need to take it 48hour before our flight takes off or lands. but in El Campello I could only find one provider but last test is 11.50am on Friday so we would be over 48hours.

does anyone know where else we could get a pcr test done in El Campello on Saturday or Friday afternoon?

I've also read i can take antigen tests with me to do whilst abroad they ask for pic of test and id and give you results - has anyone done this if so who do you recommend? thank you

I know there are pcr tests too but ideally didn't want to pay an extra €70euros each if we could help it.

thank you in advance

You don’t need one to get into Spain if you have been double jabbed - you need proof of that and your locator form. We are near El Campello and have booked a test at the clinic which is two doors away from the Barc charity shop. You can get the results back the same day. I had not heard about bringing tests with you. It needs to be done within 72 hours of your flight. You also need to book day two tests and have proof of that before flying.

I took my own test with me. Livingcare are highly recommended. Very efficient and easy to do.

Pharmacies and clinics were running out of tests and people had to make alternative arrangements for flights home as it had been left to the last minute to walk in
