I gained temporary residency on 20/12/20. Prints taken for TIE, 20/4/21 and will pick up card on 8/6/21. I returned to U.K. 1/3/21 for my covid jab 15/3/21 returning to Spain 26/3/21.

I need to return to U.K. for second jab how many days can I be out of country for rest of year I think in first year any trip abroad cannot be longer than 30days.

I didn't know that, I'm in a similar position as I pick my card up on the 15th of June but intended to go back for a few months to fix my place up in the UK as our tenant is moving out, I was under the impression we could stay out for 6 months.

My understanding is that if you gained temp Residence (TIE) under the terms of the Withdrawal Agreement (i.e. prior to 31/12/2020) an absence of up to six months per annum is allowable. The 30 days max allowed in the first year is part of the new (post 01/01/2021) NLV conditions.

We need Kimmy's opinion on this!

Seems crazy to me, I've met the conditions to obtain a TIE but now if I want to keep it I'm trapped here not able to go travelling or spend time with my kids,? Why would Spain insist on keeping me here?
