It took the UK 7 yrs to design to commission a Aircraft carrier which still awaits operational duties due to lack of aircraft
China from a standing start from idea to combat ready 7 months to aquire a 47000 tonne Amphibious assault carrier
And whilst at 3 separate Chines yards from idea to combat commission each can do so with at least 5 frigates or destroyers
Meanwhile 2 weeks ago UK announced a new frigate program
R.N. expects delivery of 1st one 11 YEARS from now

Thank you - I'm hoping so. (I'm also hoping Spain start accepting Rapid tests by then too.... but we'll have to wait and see on that one!)

It's relying on the post that is a pain that time of year, so I may try to find a local lab that I can use- I'll sort it one way or another and WILL get over this time :)

Hi. Make an appt at boots for the swab to be taken at boots no more than 72 hours and no less than 60 hrs before departure and they should email you the results with certificate around 40 hours before you fly out. This is what it says on their website.

Alternatively test is also available from various companies, lloyds and including boots where a kit is sent and you take the swab yourself and return the swab for test and you get your results but with the Xmas holidays and unreliable post you take the risk.

Boots not offering bookings until 22/12/2020 near me have ended up making a booking at Biggin Hill Airport results from test within 24-36hrs

The service only started last week. Hopefully they will increase capacity to reflect demand.

I have this booked for 27 December at Gatwick and it cost £60 each If you have a booking reference.
