I was interested to read this review of New Zealand's prime minister, Jacinda Ardern, earlier this week, written by Alistair Campbell:

https://www.independent.co.uk/voices/coronavirus-new-zealand-jacinda-ardern-cases-deaths-leadership-a9460591.html

This morning, Ms Ardern has announced that she and her government will take a 20% salary cut for the next 6 months:

In my opinion, this is a true leader; someone who demonstrates empathy with the people who elected her to lead them.  When other, so-called "leaders" are behaving disgracefully, I thought it would be encouraging to share this information.  We could do with more leaders like Jacinda Ardern.
Kind regards,
Kim

100% agree, empathy with the ordinary people shows she is in touch with real life unlike most of our mp’s.

Yeah not like UK politicians all complaining about additional costs incurred by working from one of their many homes and scrambling for the extra £10,000 they’re getting!!!!

Hear hear. She is an amazing woman, so down-to-earth like most Kiwis. But also so very sensible, strong, respected and popular. Long may she lead New Zealand😘

Totally agree, the incompetence of Johnson and the downright insanity of Trump only highlights her attributes even more.

Both of them should be prosecuted for manslaughter, in Johnsons case he even caught it himself (apparently), if he did it was mild as there are genuine people who had it bad and are struggling to recover, and have been surprised how quickly he was discharged from hospital.

Frankly I smell a rat, not difficult, most of the things the tories have done recently have been very, very dodgy to say the least, they'd do anything to deflect the criticism of their leader, make him out a martyr.

Sadly there are many weak minded people who will fall for it.

Jacinda Ardem isn't the only leader who has acted decisively, Germany, South Korea, Sweden, Vietnam etc got their act together very quickly.

Hi ,couldn’t agree more , Johnson , was making an arse of the daily updates , couldn’t answer any questions , at least not sensibly , Now everyday , we have a new “presenter” on the update  ,and I don’t know if you’ve noticed , but when asked a question ,to which they don’t know ,or don’t want to answer correctly , they start their answers with “ Of course we re doing / going to ..., whatever ,,they are lying scumbags ,and don’t have a clue what they are doing , ,and they “swap “ to another idiot telling the same lies daily .As regards that idiot having CV , I sincerely doubt it ... publicity stunt without a doubt !

Take care people and hope these idiots get their just deserts

I agree. Jacinda is a real role model to leaders at this time. She listens to Scientists and communicates with the public in a refreshingly honest and personal manner. In general, female leaders are handling the covid crisis well, Germany and Taiwan also good examples. Go girls!
