Whereas it is a good idea in theory to lower speed limits to reduce accidents I suspect that I smell a money making scheme at the root of it.
It really is pathetic to have such a slow limit.  My car will not get out of second gear, so I might as well get a bl**dy bike. Cars' braking systems have improved a lot since 1930.

It's pretty much the same idea in the UK with the use of these pop-up camera vans.  They bleat on about safety ie 'safety cameras' but it just another name for a money grabber. Why would they develop a long range camera lens that can catch you up to a mile away?  I like to think I'm old enough to judge for myself what a safe speed may be for the prevailing conditions.

Here in Spain it will become even more of a nightmare in towns as pedestrians  already walk out onto crossings without looking expecting cars to be able to stop dead.   Now they will just do it anywhere.

Hi all,

I've been searching the internet, trying to find a 1-page graphic that explains the new rules.  I like the one attached because it gives examples of 'before' and 'after'.

Kind regards,

Kim

Morning Kimmy

Fantastic! I’ll settle down later and have a good look 🧐🧐🧐. I’ll have to remember to almost double the travel times for most urban journeys.

Wonder how the average Spanish working person feels about the new restrictions 😉🤪🥂

Hi Ange,

At least I now understand why a tractor overtook me in San Fulgencio, when I was only doing 20 kph!  😄

Happy days!

🤪🙃

Everyone is whizzing past us, I think we might have not fully understood what are urban and inter urban routes.
