Change car ownership in Spain

Hiya everyone - I have purchased a left hand car , spannish registered , here in Spain.

My question is -

How do I change car ownership in Spain , my issue is :-

1 . I thought i obtained all the necessary paperwork when I completed the sale , nevertheless the paperwork is not the original for the log books ,and the owners have since returned to the UK after selling their house and they don't have the original paperwork & are unable to help me with it.

2 . The ITV testing team are unable to retest the car , as I need the original log book , which I don't have , it's a copy. The ITV is due at the end of this month.

3 .The ownership of the car is still under the sellers name. Notwithstanding I will have to change car ownership.

I'm not sure if I need legal assistance on this matter. If I do can anyone suggest a local gesture for the purpose of resolving the log book and change car ownership issue.

Correos will obtain duplicate registration documents for you. Not copies but duplicates of the original. They do quite a lot of car documentation on behalf of the DGT.
