Hi, I am considering moving to Formentera De Segura. I was wondering about the social scene in the town. I like to go to bars with live music and dance. Is this available there? Thanks

Where do you live now, in Spain or UK?

I know Formentera is cheaper than a lot of other places, but can't see the attraction for a Brit apart from that.

Am I missing something here?

Some areas are more British than Spanish, what sort of  live music and dancing are you looking for?

Spanish flamenco or Brit style tribute bands.

In Formentera you’re not too far away from “Disco Alley”

Hi, I prefer musicians but flamenco is also nice to see. In general music in a bar rather than sports. Thanks

Guardamar is quiet in January. Most of the hotels and bars close to revamp and recover during January. But the same can be said for most areas during January.  However El Bosque Animado, Guardamar was open every weekend with live shows and music and they were extremely busy. Entertainment was available in Guardamar you just had to look a bit harder to find it. British bars tend to move their entertainment  schedules to daytimes in January, whereas the Spanish restaurants don’t open until at least 8pm and their live entertainment doesn’t start till 10pm.

A lot of bars also would not put on live entertainment as they were operating under a restricted capacity, now those restrictions have been dropped, the bars are operating on full capacity at the first time in almost 2 years.

In contrast now in March, nearly every bar in the area seems to be heavily promoting  their entertainment schedules. It’s nice to see live entertainment back on the agenda and the bars appear to be recouping lost  revenue since the lifting of the ban on  live entertainment. OK dancing is still not quite the same with masks on, but I do feel as though we’re getting back to normal times again.

Hi Lynn, thanks for the information. Yes it's nice things are returning to pre pandemic. There are lots of property to rent in Guardamar but parking is difficult. There is none to rent within my budget in Formentera however, lots of buying options. I just wanted to know if it was nice place to live and socialize. Regards
