The customs duty is 10% of the value based on a Government list plus 21% VAT.
However, if you are importing the car as part of your relocation to Spain and taking up residency, you can apply for an exemption of these taxes.
You need to show you have been resident, with the car, in UK for the 12 months prior to the move and that the reason you are moving is to take up residence in Spain with the required visa or authority.
You will get green number plates issued (well, you buy them at €150) to display whilst the car is going through rematriculation. You need to get the car ITV (equivalent of MoT) regardless of when this was last done. To pass the ITV you need to have the headlights with a dip to the opposite side to UK, a reversing light on the correct side of the car (if only one then opposite to UK), all the documentation and a EU certificate of compliance.
To get the paperwork done, it would be best to go through a gestor to register the car for you. Depending on cost of headlights etc, you will probably pay about £1,000 to get all this done.
Best of luck
