Regarding the €18,000.
We dont get anywhere near that even for both of us.

Might be in trouble. We don't get anything like 18,000eu between us.

Well, that should mean that you don’t pay for prescriptions. And as your application for residency has already been entered into the system as I understand it, you may be able to avoid the enhanced income requirement, thank you Brexit. Again for certainty consult your lawyer.

Something to add here regarding the 18000 threshold. A friend told me that she didn't get free prescriptions until after she had filed her first tax return. Presumably the tax authorities verify your income to the health authority. So for well over a year she had to pay for all medicines.
Perhaps someone else can confirm this.

I think that is correct, the tax authorities obviously need to know your income in order to apply the system.

That happened with us as well. We initially paid for prescriptions, but all of a sudden they unexpectedly became free! It took us a little while to realise that was because we'd done our first tax returns.
Steve (yeah, another one!)
