Hi everyone

Went to police station for residency on Friday no problem but have to wait 40 days for official card. My husband needs to see a doctor for a referral a.s.s.p. does anyone know if we can get a SIP on this basis as our lawyer says it would be best to wait until our card has come through but really need to get the ball rolling now

Any advice much appreciated

Regards

Kath

Hi Kath,

When you say you went to the "police station" for residency, was this for an EX-21 new application, or an EX-23 residency to TIE exchange?  If the latter, you could use your green residency certificate when you present your S1 to your nearest INSS office.  Alternatively, if you made new applications and have received your "resultado favorable" (favourable result) written confirmation, you could try presenting that instead, with your S1, to the INSS.

Kind regards,

Kim

My Friend got a temporary one,  his 67,   at the local health centre showing his S1 and EHIC  plus passport and Padron

Thank you for all your helpful comments. Just one thing do we go to the INSS or the health centre for the SIP.

Kath

You can get a temporary sip.

I can put you in touch with a gentleman who may be able to help for a fee. He's Spanish speaks and good English. He did ALL the paperwork for my wife and I

If you want his details PM me and I'll send them over.

How and when can you obtain a temporary SIP?  I plan to retire to Spain from the Netherlands in September.  As soon as I leave NL my healthcare insurance here will end, along with my EHIC.  I am concerned about the lag time between arriving in Spain and obtaining access to the Spanish healthcare system.  Many thanks.

Hi Eurobazz,

Are you a Dutch citizen?  If so, why will your EHIC end?  The EHIC allows you to obtain urgent treatment in other EU countries.

Kind regards,

Kim

Yes I am.  The EHIC is part of the Dutch private healthcare service. Once that ends so does the EHIC.

Hi eurobazz.

PM me and I'll send you Javiers details.

He is very knowledgeable and very helpful, of course he charges, but his fees are minimal and well worth it. I can also put you in touch with an excellent solicitor if you are thinking of buying a property.

Good luck. Rod.
