We are moving to Gandía in September. I am Spanish, my husband is English. We have two kids 13 and 17. We would like to know where are the best schools for them. We would like them to carry on with British curriculum .

Better think twice. Let your kids finish school in their actual environment. From similar cases I know that they will not easily assimilate such a change. Me sorprende que no esté consciente de la tremenda hasta abismal y chocante diferencia entre las mentalidades anglo-sajona y latina. My kids grew up in Euskadi, and when we moved to Murcia they were 12 and 10, the whole story is too long, but they were more than just surprised. We took them twice to Butlin's where they not only enjoyed the attractions but also the general atmosphere and were motivated to learn English. We now live near Fortuna enjoying a numerous international ex-pat community, our neighbour is Dutch, and nearby lives Scottish lady. Cheers, Hans+

Hi Sonyrufo,

I think this offers as close to a "warts and all" account of schools in the area as you're likely to get:

https://valencia-property.com/new/2021/02/09/international-and-bilingual-schools-in-valencia/

A couple of years ago, Comunidad Valenciana mandated the teaching of Valenciano in state schools, which has caused a lot of concern among parents and children alike.  As I'm sure you'll know, even if your children can already speak Spanish, they are likely to struggle with Valenciano, so your choice is probably going to be limited to fee-paying international schools.

Kind regards,

Kim
