Hola. My apartment has no heat or A/C. I'd like to get some A/C units installed before next summer. Can anyone recommend a good company that does this?

Many thanks.

Hi, I used the following electrician / airco specialist to install a Mitsubishi unit in my lounge two years ago. I was very pleased with the job he did, and also impressed when he came out three weeks ago to attend to a fault which had developed (a slip off the mounting bracket) and for which he made no charge. He is honest and a good workman. I'm not sure how much English he speaks, basic at best. I've used WhatsApp to communicate with him (using Google translate) which I suggest is your best route if you want to contact him.

Hi Herefordjack,

Thanks for your swift reply. I see that you are in Pego. Not too far from Gandia. Did you purchase the Mitsubishi unit yourself beforehand? If so, may I ask where you bought it?

No, I asked the guy to recommend a suitable unit, after checking out the room concerned and discussing my requirements. He then quoted for the complete job, equipment and installation.

Incidentally, you are aware that, as well as the wall mounted unit in the room, there is an external fan unit which is quite large and which connects to the internal unit via a pipe? In my case, this was fixed on my solarium above the lounge. In the case of an apartment with no terrace above, it will need to go on a balcony or external wall.

Well, I wasn't aware of an external fan unit until someone told me how those wall-mounted units actually work (what did I know? As far as I was concerned, you just pressed a button and voila.)

I think the technician might have to talk to my downstairs neighbours first because I have no balcony. There was some talk (in Spanish) - that I didn't entirely understand - between the estate agent and the neighbours about installing an A/C unit in the future.

Anyway, I'll contact this man in the new year. Thank you very much for the recommendation! I rented a flat last summer which had a Mitsubishi unit in the lounge. It was very effective.  :)

Jose Luis Lloret of Decofred, a Gandia company. Completely honest, good guy. You'll need to speak Spanish (or use Google translate)....... 676409401

Hi,

Fully recommend Decofred. They have installed all the air conditioning units in our apartment. They are punctual and get the job done quickly and efficiently.

Only one of them speaks English but that’s not a problem if you use WhatsApp to communicate with them.
