Hi everyone,

We are currently in the process of looking for a property in Costa Blanca to use for our holidays a few times a year but also to holiday let when we are not there.

Does anyone have experience of this in the Gran Alacant area? We would probably hope to holiday let for 12 to 14 weeks a year during the main school holidays.  We don’t have children and would want to use the property for ourselves outside of school holiday times.

Also, does anyone have experience of holidaying in Gran Alicant around March / April time or even during the winter months? Are there bars and restaurants open and how is the weather?

Thanks in advance!!

Are you aware of the tourist licence required for holiday let's?

If not search on here there's a very good guide by Davebev(apologies) if that's not quite correct!)

Read that before anything else

I was there Feb to April this year, in the Centro area: all supermarkets and most bars and restaurants were open, don't worry.

As far as I am aware it is possible to still apply for Tourist Licenses in Gran Alicant but you need to get that confirmed locally.  Ask at the Town Hall as there may be some areas of the town or communities that do not allow new Licenses.

Use this link and click on the option for FAQ in English and you will find a lot of info

https://www.turisme.gva.es/opencms/opencms/turisme/es/contents/tramitacion/empresa_turistica/faq_preguntas_frecuentes_viviendas_turisticas.html

You are welcome to come back to me with specific questions.

Find and use an independent solicitor who also handles Licensing applications and ensure they run some basic checks on the property to see if it is eligible for a License before you commit to the purchase if letting is an essential part of your plan for the property.

Thanks DaveBev, I have also had a read of your post on holiday let’s. Really informative. We are at the early stages at the mo but May we’ll give you a shout when things are in motion.
