We brought our two feline companions. We contracted a specialist animal transport company animalcouriers.co.uk, who were licensed and insured. Because we wanted them out of the house before the trauma of the removers tramping around, we delivered them to a cattery adjacent to the company’s premises, from where they collected them. The couriers then brought them here overland in specialist vehicle, and delivered them to a cattery near our area with whom they have a working relationship. We left them there for a couple of weeks, whilst we completed purchase and various other tasks and then collected them when we had moved in. They were faintly confused, but fine. Although one of them developed a severe allergy to the fleas here, which ended up with dreadful symptoms poor creature, and had to endure double strength antiflea treatment every three weeks and an antihistamine injection every four weeks for a couple of years, until we finally had to do the kindest thing. The other one was fine until she also suffered cat old age conditions and had to be put to sleep.
We now have two rescued feral cats, who love us in the winter but currently can only be seen when really hungry!!!
