Hi we are Simon and Maggie staying in guardamar . We fly back to uk on Thursday the 16 September. We are in a bit of a panic  about getting our covid test and filling out our location forms . There is a clinic just round the corner from our hotel which you can’t book and it’s first come first served and open for only two hours. Also hearing nightmare stories about pensioners like us who couldn’t fill in location forms and were turned away at airport . We could really do with some help . Are willing to pay for any help . Simon and mags

Hi there, please see the following advice on testing for those travelling to England: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/coronavirus-covid-19-testing-for-people-travelling-to-england

Hi Simon and Maggie,

Sorry I’m not in your area.  I do know that a lot of people from this forum have recommended a clinic in Torrevieja called “IMED”. Here is their website just click on the link below.

Don’t panic, there’s always help to hand. All sorts of people have had problems with the paperwork, so don’t worry it’s not age related, but you do need to have your paperwork completed before you can fly.
I’m sure you have friends here or someone in your local bar that have already been through the process that can assist.

You may find it easier to book your fit to fly test in in advance, the clinic you are talking about in Guardamar  also has runs the testing in the farmacia in El Raso and you can book your tests in advance. . When El Raso was extremely busy they were sending  Clients to the lab in Guardamar. You may find that the farmacia has a couple of spaces available now. Don’t forget you will need to take your passport when you go for the test

I’m guessing you are both double jabbed, do you have copies of your EU Covid certificate. That’s the one with the QR code and the 3 flags on the top. Or if you’ve been  double jabbed in the U.K. an in date Covid pass showing both of your jabs.

You also need to book a Day 2 test to do in the U.K.  Your airline have probably sent you a discount code to use. Once you book your test you get a booking reference number which you need to put on your passenger locator form  If there are two of you , you’ll get 2 reference codes.
Finally the passenger locator form. You need to fill one of these out each. It can’t be finalised until 48 hours before you fly.   You can start it off and save it  and you’ll get an email link to complete it, but that’s the bit that’s been causing problems so I think it’s far easier to start and complete the form in one session. You will obviously need your passport number, flight number and seat numbers for the form.
Which airline are you flying with, most of them have links to everything  on your booking to make it easier.

So quick recap, where are you likely to have problems

1. EU Covid Cert/ NHS Covid Pass

2. Fit to Fly

3 Booking Day 2 test

4 Passenger Locator Form

Once we get you through each section we’ll all try and help you find your way to the magic QR code you need at the end.

Hi Simon the clinic you are looking for is very near the nan kin Chinese restaurant, a Cross from a school.

You que up there, when you get inside fill out the pre printed paper on the desk, with name passport number & an email address. Also telephone number.

Please make sure the email address is written clearly to help speed the result to you.( personal experience) 😉

Hi thanks for the information. We have spent some time to day trying to get this sorted. One big question remains …. Are we ok with the antigen test for €37 or do we need a  PCR test at €100. Could do with some advice on that . Thank you Simon
