If you're not familiar with the culture and celebrations of the country then you should move to somewhere like rural France where nothing ever happens.

Was a bit shocked by all the notice but my reply may have been better worded

Festivals are celebrated all over the world but few let off huge bangers to frighten the elderly population who are unknown to this type of festivities.

No I am not  moving to the south of France

Just to give you warning  between 15 - 25 July, it’s going to get very very noisy. Rockets at dawn, those missiles going off every hour , fireworks, parades, drums, brass bands  and concerts in the park. The concerts start around midnight and usually last till at least 5am. Watch out for the men throwing the fireworks, spectacular to watch, but very noisy.
