Mortar fire decreasing but sporadic ,

Champions League Final  - it’s just the way Spanish celebrate.

Just wait for the fiesta’s to begin. Noise goes on till five in the morning and then they herald the start of a new day a couple of hours later at 7am the rockets go off. Shortly after that the brass bands start marching.

Even better the Moors and Christians. Battles, rockets,  fireworks going on all day and until the wee small hours.

Because sound carries, you’ll witness the celebrations from not just Guardamar (the campo also have separate fiestas) but from Rojales, Benijofar, San Fulgencio, Torrevieja etc etc.

Most fiestas have been cancelled for the past couple of years, so this years are probably going to bigger and better and noisier.
Just wait until the Market opens next month the increase in visitors means much more noise. They turn the volume up on the fairground, when the market’s on.
Then when the Spanish arrive in August, the concerts in the park usually finish with fireworks.

Welcome to Spain!

Cheryl, you’re right , I’m in the campo of Guardamar and the atmosphere last night during the final was amazing to hear. Fireworks, rockets etc. When the goal was scored and the final whistle went  the noise was tremendous. They then took to the streets, touring round, tooting horns etc....

...

Nice to hear that after 2 long years the Spanish are back into party mode.

Lynn

I agree, we love it but then we are over 6 km from  our nearest town. We are in an elevated position and there were flashes and bangs which were probably repeated all over Spain, with the possible exception of Barcelona.
Good match although I was wanting Liverpool to win but as a Spanish resident, not altogether disappointed!

3 more mortor explosions and 2 insindery grenades , high velocidy .50cal

It can be a little bit surprising when not expected - but no bombs, mortars or .50 cal - just fireworks, bangers, and plenty of people making noise. Put on your headphones ;-).

We live in a little village and the first time around the week of fiestas was none too good for sleep. But now we understand it is noisy over some of the summer fiestas (where ever you are) - you soon get used to it. It is simply Spain and the fiestas.

I actually checked Accuweather's radar to see if there were thunderstorms around. I had no idea the footy was on 😁

Oliva had their Fallas fireworks a couple of weeks ago (previously cancelled by the endless March rain) and the percussive noise from the finale was actually physically painful. Never experienced anything like it before

Was it the Champion's League Final?
We were watching it and noticed lots of loud bangs when Real Madrid scored and then lots more after the end of the match.

Hello:

It is typical here when Barcelona or Madrid or Spain win a championship. Fireworks and people playing the horn for hours. For me is mad too but ....

Well, the weekend's festivities ended last night with the "mortar bomb" explosions that Bizzanno heard at the start of the fiesta on Friday night, followed by a massive firework display in Formentera village around 11pm.  Just when I thought it was all over, San Fulgencio started their closing fireworks.  Poor Eddie 🐶

A brief reprieve now, until Rojales' Moors & Christians fiestas start on 11 June with the Gran Chupinazo, finishing with the gun battle on 30 June, and the Moors & Christians' parades on the weekend of Saturday 2 and Sunday 3 July.

Order your earplugs now! 😄

Kind regards,

Kim

I have neighbours I'm not too keen on. I sent a rocket propelled grenade into their townhouse. That shut them up once and for all! Nobody noticed. Everyone just thought it was a celebration. Life goes on....

Hello

I love it too Cheryl, especially if it is football related.

Yesterday my team---- 55 years a supporter) got promoted to the Prem Lge after waiting, hoping & praying for 23years & I was the one making all the noise in my Urb - no English people here but sharing it online on laptop and phone till after midnight haha

My spanish neighbours celebrated till after 3am the night before,  so a good weekend here for football lovers

Cheers

So that’s why there was so many fireworks last night, didn’t realise it was a double whammy - absolutely wonderful.

I was sitting outside watching tennis and had to flick the volume up as the fireworks were so noisy.

It really makes you realise how much you  missed the fireworks during covid,  I love rushing outside to watch them.

Congratulations to Nottingham Forest as well!
