Hi Collette

I don't know of any hotels who hire out their pools but there is a public pool in Guardamar that you can use, BUT all swimmers need a bathing cap( you can buy at any of Chinese bazaars)

It's in the sports centre on the front line, near Jaime plays restaurant.

I don’t think there’s that many hotels open in Guardamar  at this time of the year. Even if they are pools will be decidedly chilly till at the earliest April - the sea temperature is us much higher.

Have you tried Alannia? The big pool is always closed during the winter, but I’m pretty sure the indoor pool & spa area remain open and welcome visitors.

Thank you but the pool in Guardamar is very deep.

There’s a municipal pool near the Friday market in Torrevieja, I imagine it should suit you perfectly.

I was in Guardamar recently (passing through). There was very little open and that included cafe's etc near the front. The place across from the park was open and good food etc there.

How strange. The bars/restaurants on the front are usually the busiest place in Jan - March.

Lots of hotels, bars restaurants do close for rest and refurb, but I was in the town one morning last week and the main shopping area was quite busy for the time of year. However once siesta time approaches everything closes and it does feel very deserted.

Even if you visit during the summer the main row of restaurants  by the park don’t open until evening time and in the winter months they reduce their hours even more so, many restaurants don’t open till 8pm. We made that mistake when we first moved over, went for a meal at 7pm and found very few places open but by 10pm everywhere was heaving.

Maybe we are available different part then. We parked by the park and the bar/restaurant was open. This was around lunchtime. Walked through the park, down the main road where all that was open was the Chinese shop and 1 cafe. Down to the beach which was dead. I couldn't believe how many apartments on the roads down to the beach had se vende signs up. Walked down the beach and back up through the park. Stopped at the place over the road and had something to eat then back to San Miguel.
