Hi we rent a property in Guardamar del segura, I contacted the rental agent to say that we have an active wasp nest. They said the cost would be ours, there is no mention of pest control in the rental agreement. Does anyone have any idea who should pay please?

Depends if the nest was there at the beginning of the tenancy. If so, it would be the landlords problem. If they have appeared after the tenancy then it would be the renters' responsibility to remove it.

Shame there's nothing in the contract about it. When we rented (albeit in UK) there was a clause about pest removal which laid down the onus on either the landlord (me) or the tenant.

Thank you that is what I thought.

May I suggest, a pleasant word with the Landlord. Possibly pay half each ?    Also worth checking on House Insurance, which may cover such

a situation.

Good luck.

Cheers,

Adrian

Thank you I have tried, It looks like I will have to pay, which is fine , does anyone have any idea of a company locally, although I have a little Spanish, an English speaking company would probably save me from ending up with nothing like wasp nest removal 🤣

Thank you so much and thanks to everyone who responded, we do have the spray now and the son in law has removed the nest,  and now we know what to do in the future. Thank you all again 💕

Hi,

wasps are crawling insects and I find a  couple of puffs with 'ant power', near where the wasps are landing, and they'll all be dead in a couple of days.
