Hello

my partner and I are both British and we are moving to Spain in September. We are aware of having to apply for the nie and tie and registering for the padron however we have come across conflicting information.

Would you be able to advice what the process is for those who have never lived in Spain and some possible documents needed.

thank you in adv

Hi,

Have a look at Jim's Guides that can be found in the drop down menu on the left side of this page.

Within these guides will be everything you need to know about living here legally.

Hi,

Jim has updated his guides to take account t of the requirement for new residency applicants to hold a TIE instead of the green residency certificates many of us already have:

https://www.costablancaforum.com/area/mudamiento-spain-77813/residency-in-mudamiento-padron-residencia-passport-advice-23/jims-guide-first-time-residency-applicants-107143/

There's a separate guide on how to exchange the green certificate for a TIE.

Kind regards,

Kim
