Hi

We purchased a Apartment in Guardamar last year the Electricity with Iberdrola was changed to our name when we got the keys in September when we left we switched off the Electric , The bills which I take it should just be for the standing  charge but they have taken out by Direct debit November €27.71, December €24.25 and January €30.19 we have seen no bills as they are paper one delivers to the Apartment.

Does anyone know any reason they so variable , I’m not sure if they add communal lighting to the bill in Spain

They look about right. It’s the daily standing charge which is based on the contracted ‘potencia’. It depends on the day the meter is read. Sometimes it will cover 25 days, sometimes it will be 33 and the standing charge is applied daily.

My contracted potencia is 4.6kw and I pay about 70 cents a day when no power is being used.

Hope that helps. The first few bills always leave you scratching your head while you work out what you’re paying for.

You should be able to register and then access your account details including bills online on the Iberdrola customer website (if you know or can find out your account number - from your solicitor maybe?)

Hi Barry, I'm in a similar position. My first one was 11.04, next one 16.86 and most recent 19.20.

They send me an online bill.

That was something I'm worried about, I set up everything by email, I haven't been there yet. You can see by the bill nobody has used any units, so that gives me some peace of mind at least!
