Hi, this isn't an answer to your question, more of a question.

We are also thinking of moving to spain with a 10 year old. What are you doing about schooling I hope you don't mind me asking?

Regards

Julie Boddy

Hello Julie,

There seems to be a lot of positive info on this forum regarding Spanish schools for children.  Location to me seems to take priority when you bring children to live abroad.

While children under 10 may enjoy outdoor playing and living in a quiet rural area seems wonderful, their needs will change dramatically over next 5 to 10 years.   You will need access to schools, shops, sporting facilities and contact with other children.

The following family have posted this.  They are moving to an ideal area I would say. Nice town, close to Airport, public transport,  employment opportunities, schools, and Alicante city for all the facilities that may provide going forward.

Perhaps post your message on the following thread as well.   Also put “schools” into search bar above and “everything” into location.  You can send private message to people.    Read JIMS GUIDES on this form, full of useful information.

New family in Santa Pola

Best wishes for your move to Spain

Maria

Hi john, Claire and teddy

We moved to Hondon (Nieves) last June our children Betty 9 nelson 8 and Mac 5 all started the ceip in Hondon (Nieves) in September and they all really enjoy it - the Spanish are very friendly both adults and children and have invited us to several birthday gatherings already - the children did not know any Spanish before we came and it’s not a problem they are learning very quickly in school the teachers are all Spanish and know some English, there is also I think another 15 English children who attend the school - they do lots of in school activities and the most important thing when they started was to make sure they were all happy- school hours are 9-2pm except for sept & June where the hours are 9-1pm then they have a long summer break June 18th till sept 8th - Im not 100% but I think the ceip in Frailes has fewer children there. The secondary school I believe is in aspe I’ve heard good reviews about this school too from another English parent who’s son started there last year - it’s great we love it home/school ratio is perfect the weather the food the people best move we ever made I’m sure teddy will fit in with no problems  - and you too will be very happy
