Brexit made a mess of everything. Just like Jonson's hair that is a right mess. People did not know what they were voting for and now many regret it.

Can’t manage to post direct link but follow this:

Gov.uk, takes you to main page, scroll to passports, travel and living abroad, click on this, next menu first item includes benefits , click this, scroll down page to benefits and financia support and follow this. You may have to do some further digging, but the information should be there

I have tried til I am giddy, and paralysis worse. I dont know where to go from here, I tried  your route and I ended up  with phone numbers that I tried already and got sympathy but no re- established benefits such as attendance allowance, severe disablement allowance. Worse, when I tried  before over a period of several deeply nightmarish weeks, all I got was a cut in my state pension because it was alleged that some payments (not related to state pension) had been overpaid. To be honest am now exhausted ., and not a little scared.

Yes indeed, I stopped even following the related media full of transparent but clever "spin" its just so distressing. One thing that remains a mystery is what possible reason can there be for the leader of our still-world´- power to present such a dishevelled image ? Maybe its simply a mistake ?

Tim,I am sorry this did not help you. May I make a suggestion which you may find helpful when attempting to sort out your situation. Whilst we can all be very sympathetic to your position, it all reads a little incoherently and because of your obvious distress, is very difficult to actually comprehend. Write a list, dated if possible,of the events leading to your current situation, together with records of phone calls and any contact with official bodies. This should be purely factual as emotional statements unfortunately cloud the issue.

I then suggest that you contact britishbenevolentfund.org, who exist to help British people with difficult situations in Spain.

There are other bodies online who may be able to help, but you need a professional organisation and it would seem that it’s not really within the powers of this forum to be of much practical help to you. I hope this helps and am sorry not to be able to suggest anything more immediate or concrete.

That’s very well guided advice Stephanie, I hope Tim is able to do as you suggest and gets the help and support that he needs during this difficult situation.

Tim

A couple of off the wall suggestions.

Could you maybe contact your local newspaper on the IOW to see if they are interested in running a story about your plight.  In conjunction with a Go Fund Me page that may get contributions to help get you back to the UK.

I also wonder what would happen if you simply walked into your local police station to give yourself up as an illegal immigrant who due to your medical condition and lack of funds are unable to leave Spain and now want to be deported back to the UK.

I suggest that you get a translator and go to the local social services office and explain yourself to them.

Or.......

Go to your doctor and state that your health has become an emergency and ask the doctor to refer you to see social services and a home help company.
