Hi we loved visiting North Costa Blanca and have been trying to save for years to buy an apartment or villa (ideally 2 bed shared pool/private pool) as a holiday home. We are hoping to soon and wanted some advice on where? We loved Moraira but also really loved playa Arenal/Javea is there an area that's in-between that anyone could recommend to enable to access both? Or any areas that are a very short drive away from Playa Arenal as I know the beach apartments will be very expensive! Many thanks  Jackie x

Hi Jackie,

as you might expect it will be very budget dependent. The further away from the coast you go the cheaper properties will tend to become. Benitachell and Cumbre de Sol are in-between Moraira and Javea and may offer better value than Moraira and Javea. There are also other villages inland and in-between that might be even cheaper but there might not be a lot there.

If its a holiday home you need to consider what facilities you need at the times of year you will be using it. Some smaller and inland villages can be pretty dead and require driving to life/bars/restaurants.

From our search during the winter it quickly became apparent that orientation is key. Homes that do not have a S or SW orientation, particularly older builds, can get very damp and cold during the winter months and suffer from mould/ mildew if not aired / used. They can also be expensive to heat when you are there. I believe mist/damp can also be problematic on Cumbre.

Hi jackie011

Welcome to the forum!

We bought in Moraira/Benitachell 4 years ago and absolutely love it! We spend quite a bit of time in Javea. Calpe, Altea and Denia also 😄. We think we’re very fortunate to have so many varied towns so readily available

Benitachell is ideally placed for both Moraira and Javea; the best of both worlds.

Prices can vary enormously, depending on what you buy. Million pound villas to reasonably priced apartments. It all depends on what you’re after. Consideration to the following might help you to focus your priorities

Will it be a holiday home, or might you want to spend longer periods of time/live permanently?

Will you drive or must facilities be in walking distance?

Do you need to be near the beach or is a 10 minute drive acceptable? It you’re interested in a village apartment, Teulada has some very reasonably priced apartments and again, equidistant to both Moraira and Javea.

Lots to think about but very exciting. I wish you well 🤪🥂

Thank you that’s great advice and food for thought! Ideally we would want to be 15/20 mins max inland from one of the beaches. Jackie
