Hi everyone I'm new to this forum & would appreciate some help. Within the next 18 mth I hope to own a property in La Marina. Is the bus service good from Alicante airport to here & do the buses go to any big shopping malls where you can find items for the home i.e. bedding, furniture, tiles? I don't drive & hate taxi's. Any feedback would be much appreciated. Regards Vicky

The bus service is almost non existent. No buses from the airport. There is/was  a bus to Alicante, but are few and far between. Another bus to Alicante on the N332 at lidl or from La Marina village. There is also a bus from Guardamar to Elche, but I'm not sure if it goes near the shopping centre in Elche. Sorry I can't be of more help. Airport taxi approx €40

I have a few friends in La Marina. And find it very difficult and time consuming to visit them, when im in Spain.

As i stay around Altea and Albir.

Even when in L. M. Thete are only two buses a day into Alicante and two back.

Its the same travelling to L. M. From Santa Pola, i believe again only two buses from there too.

I dont understand why people especially ones who dont drive or who choose not to have not challenged this.

For that reason alone. I would never live in L. M..

Hi Vicky,

Costa Azul run a bus service from Alicante airport to Torrevieja, via Santa Pola, La Marina and Guardamar:

https://costazul-net.translate.goog/?_x_tr_sl=es&_x_tr_tl=en&_x_tr_hl=en&_x_tr_pto=sc

But several members recommend the shuttle bus service offered by Beniconnect:

Kind regards,

Kim

Beni Connect have got excellent reviews. They are cheap and reliable. My friend uses them all the time as she's  back and forth re work in UK. Gets picked up from round the corner. In Altea.

To airport drivers very friendly and bus very clean.

Hope this helps.

Hi Vicky

The Beniconnect South shuttle service from Alicante airport isn’t running, I’ve just had a look on their website and it doesn’t come up as an option, just the taxi service. It was suspended in 2020 due to the pandemic and unfortunately never reinstated. It’s a shame as I used it on several occasions.
As others have said the bus service on the Urbanisation is dire. In my opinion a car is essential

Regards

Anne

To those people who took the time and trouble to reply to my post regarding public transport service at Camposol urbanisation thank you. I showed my daughter the villa I was interested in buying and although it's everything I could wish for she has correctly pointed out that yes I would need some sort of transport to get around and it is too rural. As I am very independent I would have to rely on neighbours for lifts to do fortnightly shopping etc.Having considered all of this I am going to pass on purchasing the villa in Sector C and look for an area with good public transport service nearby to all amenities. As they say in the property business 'location, location, location' and that is so true when purchasing property. I mustn't let my heart rule my head!
