Recently, Wizzair pulled out of flying from Doncaster/Sheffield airport to Alicante. Does anyone know if another airline is going to take over this slot?
I've searched loads of websites for information but have drawn a blank. Looking for someone who may have an inside track please!

A lot of the Doncaster staff have been moved to Manchester airport. I'm not sure if this move is temporary, to overcome heavily reported staffing problems at Manchester airport, or the new normal.
TUI still fly during the summer Tuesday and Saturdays but the airport is having a review as to possible closure due to unviability ...possibly in the near future...we'll have to leg it up to Leeds and join the queues!

If Doncaster closes, it would be good if their air traffic was transferred to Humberside Airport which is greatly under-utilised. Problem is that Humberside is smaller than Doncaster and would need to extend the size of the departure lounge. Leeds is already very busy as the UK hub for Jet 2 and also a lot of Ryanair flights. We Yorkshire folk may all have to use Manchester or East Midlands. Has anyone heard anything about possible plans if Doncaster does in fact close?
